Tuscany with teenagers and no car

Hello

We would like to go visit Tuscany for up to 10 days this summer. We have teenage children but don\’t want to hire a car.  We don\’t know where to base ourselves, although are prepared to move to a maximum of three different locations (2 would be ideal), with a pool at each – and would require some form of transport to get us from A to B.

Hello!
As you are not hiring a car, I suggest you stay at a place that is near major art towns in Tuscany, like Florence or Siena for instance.
That way, you can reach Florence, and from there use public transports, bus+train, to tour Tuscany and its beautiful sights.

For anyone not willing to rent a car, I always suggest choosing Florence as a base, or, as you like a place with a pool, a Tuscan farm very close to the city. I would also consider the option of taking advantage of organized tours to Tuscany, so you’ll not have to worry about transportation to reach Florence anytime Let me know in case you need some recs for this also.

There are a lot of charming farmhouses with pool near Florence. Here are some options for accommodations with pool on the outskirts of Florence:

La Paggeria B&B: I think this can be one of the best options, as this lovely villa in stone with swimming pool offers nice accommodations with stunning view over Florence, only few kilometers away. The Paggeria offers a number of interesting activities, like cooking courses, guided tours of Florence and Tuscany, horse riding and much more, tale a look and let me know.

Fattoria il Lago is an enchanting farmhouse with pool that produces wine and olive oil. There are many tours of the area and interesting fun activities offered at the farmhouse.

Have a look and let me know if this is the kind of place you’re looking for, so I can recommend proper places for your 2nd base…I was thinking of the beautiful countryside near Siena or even Cortona,

I remain at your complete disposal,

Ciao from Florence,
