Tuscany drives with dining and winery ideas

My sister and nephew and I plan to be in Tuscany for 3 full days. Florence is obviously a full day, but I am trying to plan the other days. We will have a car and would like recommendations for visiting some of the towns  with dining and winery ideas. I am not sure what we could fit in a day. Great blog and happy you are living your dream! We love Italy but took a tour and just hit the high spots. Any dining recs in Florence? Thanks

Thanks a lot for getting in touch, I’m glad to help!

Here is the plan I suggest:

Day 1 in Florence
Day 2 visiting Chianti and San Gimignano
Day 3 visiting Siena and the beautiful villages south

I imagine you’re sleeping in Florence the first night and are then taking your car on the following day. On leaving Florence, head down toward the Chianti area, southeast of the city and take the scenic Chiantigiana route. Explore the many enchanting villages of Chianti, where you will find lots of great places to eat, especially in Greve and Panzano in Chianti. Among the many places where to taste wine and eat as well, I recommend Badia a Passignano and Badia a Coltibuono.
Before reaching Siena leave the route and head west to reach the beautiful San Gimignano medieval village made unique by its ancient towers. Reach Siena by the evening, you may sleep in the historic center of Siena and have your dinner there, maybe at Ristorante La Taverna di San Giuseppe or at Ristorante Bagoga.
The last day visit Siena in the morning and then head south of it to explore the Val d’Orcia region and some of its many villages like Pienza and Montalcino. Pienza is the place to enjoy great food! the village is famous for its pecorino cheese and the delicious dishes made with it. Osteria Baccus is a place I highly recommend.

Here are my personal dining recs for Florence
