Hi ..we are planning a trip to Italy in Dec (family of 3) from Singapore and are starting out at Rome. we plan a 3 day trip to the Tuscany region and would like to stay in Chianti or Valdorcia..so i would like to know the best way to get there. Also where can we rent a car and what would be the approx. price. Finally if you can suggest some nice places to stay. Also we plan to visit the Amalfi coast after that so is there a way to getting there directly? By train? Thanks
thanks for getting here
I think the best way would be to rent the car in Rome and then start driving north to reach Tuscany. The journey from Rome to Tuscany is very scenic and offers a lot to see on the way. This road trip from Rome to Tuscany can guide you on the route to travel among beautiful places to visit.
Both Chianti and Valdorcia can be perfect to stay, one is different from the other in terms of landscape, but both are very scenic; I have a personal preference for Val d’Orcia. Here you can find great accommodations to stay in Val d’Orcia and here in Chianti.
You may finally proceed to reach Florence where you can leave the car and take a fast train (Frecciarossa) from Florence S M Novella train station to Napoli Centrale station, it takes about 2 hours and 50 minutes. From Naples you will then have to reach the Amalfi Coast by bus.
please get back for any further question,
