I am traveling to Florence May 27th and leaving on the 30th with my husband. We hope to do a day tour that includes a medieval village visit as well as some wine tasting. We will not have a vehicle and am trying to decide what would be the easiest to see via public transportation.
Thanks for any suggestions!

Staying in Florence can give you the possibility to reach great destinations in Tuscany, have a look at the best day trips to make from Florence using public transportation.
For a day tour to a medieval village with wine tasting, you may visit one of the hill villages in Chianti, rural area between Florence and Siena, renowned for its fine wines, great food, and enchanting countryside. Chianti can be reached by a SITA bus leaving from Florence Santa Maria Novella station; the line 365 reaches the villages of Greve in Chianti, Castellina In Chianti, Gaiole, and Radda in Chianti. You need, however, to pay attention to bus schedules, as there can be few buses on Sundays for example.
A further option would be to consider a guided wine tour starting from Florence, let me know if you’d like a suggestion for this.
I remain at your disposal,
Ciao from Tuscany,
Elena
