Hi, Elena. Great blog! My husband and I just returned from a 9 day trip to Rome, Florence, and Venice. Now we\’re inspired and plan to visit the Tuscany region for a week or so. We will fly into Rome for a two night stay, then head to Tuscany. Do we need two \’home bases\’ coming from Rome? We want to stay in Siena for sure. After Tuscany we will either go to Lucca, Pisa, CT or return to Venice and go visit the other areas. Thanks for your help and wonderful pictures and advice!!! Sincerely, Marla
I’m very happy to hear you wish t come again to Italy
The journey from Rome to Siena (by car) takes about 2 hours and 40 minutes, so you might also go directly to Siena and if you have time stop to visit beautiful places like Orvieto and Montepulciano.
Siena is a very good and beautiful destination in Tuscany to use as a base, I love it! From there you an do a lot of interesting day trips through the region.
Please contact me again for any further info,
Have a nice day,
elena
