Hi elena,
I love your website! My boyfriend and I are heading off on our long awaited trip of a lifetime driving ourselves around Tuscany on Thursday and I just wanted to run our itinerary past you and see if you had any comments, or additions or anything! Hope that’s ok? As you can see a few of our days are pretty packed out and the others are empty for just driving around exploring and getting lost!
Thursday – Arrive Florence late PM
Friday – Day in Florence (tickets booked for the Duomo etc, Accademia Gallery and for an opera at Chiesa Di Santa Monaca in the evening)
Saturday – Train to Pisa
Sunday – collect hire car from Florence Airport – Vineyard tour at Montefioralle – Siena – Montalcino (overnight stop)
Monday – Vineyard tours at Fattoria Dei Barbi & Sesti – Talamone/Monte Argentario – Magliano In Toscana (overnight stop)
Tuesday – Terme di Saturnia – Tuscania – Lago de Bolsena – Civita de Bagnoregio (overnight stop)
Wednesday – Vineyard tours at Monte Vibiano & Nottola – Montepulciano (overnight stop)
Thursday – Rufina (overnight stop)
Friday – Florence & fly home
I’m happy to help with your itinerary!
Your itinerary is quite full of great places to see! Yes, some days are quite packed out but definitely to recommend! especially the Tuesday to Terme di Saturnia, Tuscania, Lago di Bolsena, and the stunning Civita di Bagnoregio! All is doable.
The Saturday to Pisa, you may also consider visiting Lucca in addition to Pisa; Pisa is pretty much Piazza dei Miracoli with the tower, so you will have time to visit the lovely walled town of Lucca as well, still by train.
I wouldn’t add any more sights to your more empty days. Only San Gimignano, the town of the medieval towers, is missing, but considering your itinerary, there’s not quite a lot of time to fit it in. The last day before departure take some rest!
I remain at your disposal,
let me know about your trip!
Enjoy Tuscany!
elena
