We are two girls planning a 1 week trip to Tuscany’s beaches from 5 to 12 july. yey! We re thinking in staying in a rural nice tuscany style house we found and renting a motorcycle for the 2 of us to move around.
Do you know a nice typical place where we can rent a room and share with the owners?
do you think is a good idea to stay in one town and move around? isn’t it hectic to move luggage around making 2 nights in every given town?
do you know if its better to stay closest to the beach and walking distance to a town because renting a bike is expensive?
what towns are advisable to discover more stunning beaches, night life and/ or agroturism?
THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH, as we can see…we are kinda lost!
Best,
Vicky
I’m glad to help for your stay in the beautiful Maremma area!
The Maremma area of Tuscany is really quite vast, so you may also consider 2 different locations to stay or maybe just one near the coast having a central location in the area.
Spending 2 nights in every given town is not advisable. Some of my most favorite places in Maremma that are directly on the coast are the nice village of Castiglion della Pescaia and the scenic promontory and lagoon called Monte Argentario. Monte Argentario is also the right place for nightlife and stunning beaches. I actually include both locations in my list of the most beautiful beaches of Tuscany.
Among the many charming villages near the coast one that is particularly suggestive is Capalbio, fortified town near the seaside and Monte Argentario.
Capalbio also makes a perfect base to move around and reach the beaches as well as some of the most stunning hill towns in Tuscany and Maremma: Massa Marittima, Scansano, Magliano in Toscana, Scarlino, and especially the striking Pitigliano, Sorano, and Sovana.
Take a look here for info on Capalbio and check the other links, then let me know where you’d like me to suggest a place to stay.
Have a nice evening,
elena
