Hi Elena
My husband and I are traveling to Europe in October. We are flying in to Munich and hiring a car from there. We are going to Venice and from there would like to do a scenic drive threw to Florence/ San Gimignano, to Piza and Cinque Terre and back to Munich. My concern is the length of the trip as we only have 8 days. I am also unsure about the highways and the toll routes. We don\\\’t want to drive all day and not see the towns. I am thinking to maybe make our route shorter to have more time to explore. As you can see nothing is set in stone as yet. Your advice would be much appreciated
Finally I’m here! Thanks for getting in touch
The journey is quite long by car, but if you make some good stops along the way, I think that would be absolutely doable.
I second the plan suggested by Daniel, but if you think that is too much, you may skip Lucca and the Cinque Terre, and concentrate your time relaxing at some nice place in the countryside near Siena, San Gimignano, or Chianti before departure. That way you will have more time for rest and exploration.
Take a look at the links to get some tips on how to use each destinations as your base in Tuscany.
Feel free to contact me again,
Have a nice day,
elena from Florence
