Hi,
We are coming to tuscany in a few days and after spending 2 days in florence want to base ourselves in a picturesque town/ village. My husband is an avid photographer and loves scenic beauty and we have a 9 year old son . We will rent a car in milan for the whole trip of 9 days. Would love suggestions from you.. Would like to stay for around 100 dollars a day☺️
To start with, I suggest you give a look at the main and most sensational areas in Tuscany, just to have an idea.
More specifically, I suggest the tiny and ancient village of Bagno Vignoni to the south of Siena. This is an incredibly peculiar and characteristic hill town made unique by its Renaissance pool with thermal waters that is also the village’s main square. The charming Locanda del Loggiato can be a great accommodation. All this area, known as Val d’Orcia natural park, is full of picturesque villages atop hills, so you’ll be spoilt for choices.
Siena itself, though one of the major art towns in Tuscany, has all the charm of a smaller medieval town, do visit it and take pictures!
Another scenic area of Tuscany is Chianti, situated between Siena and Florence. The landscape is different from the one of the Val d’Orcia and here are again lovely towns. Take a look at the links and the photos to make up your mind
Get back to me for any further advice,
Have a great time in Tuscany!
