Hi Elena,
Your blog is wonderful, thank you for creating such an informative resource.
My wife and I would like to find a farmhouse, house, etc. in Southern Tuscany to let for a week. We love people, but not crowds or a schedule. Our hope is we can stay in one place, wander, chat, eat, and generally nose around a few towns or villages. And of course eat and drink and eat some more.
Tuscany is overwhelming in a lovely way — so many beautiful places. Do you recommend an area in which we can concentrate our search for lodgings? Is it terrible for us to say we just want to sit quietly and enjoy being in Tuscany?
Kindly,
Leigh
Happy to help!
Tuscany is actually the best place to sit quietly and enjoy the landscape
The most beautiful part of southern Tuscany is the Val d’Orcia, a real paradise for its unique and dreaming landscape. There are so many villages that would be perfect as your base.
La Foce is a large estate where to enjoy great peace and one of the beat panoramas in the region. They rent houses, villas, apartments…
Montepulciano and Pienza are 2 other great destinations where to look for a great accommodation.
At the end of this article you can see my tips on using the Val d’Orcia as your base in Tuscany.
For any other question, I’m here,
Enjoy the weekend,
elena
