Dear Elena, I LOVE your blog. The best on Tuscany. So the question: My wife and I are traveling by car in Tuscany & Cinque Terre in May 2020 for 12 days total. Our goal is a romantic 2nd Honeymoon. We\’ve been to Florence but not the rest of Tuscany. I carefully read your 2 week itinerary but with 4 days in Cinque Terre, that only leaves us 8 days for the remainder. How or where would you allocate the remaining 8 days for Tuscany? We prefer staying 3 nights in 1 place and making day trips rather than changing lodging every night. Also, all your hotel recommendations are booked-up. We don\’t need fancy but love places with beautiful views that will accommodate our car. Thank you!

Dear Richard thank you so much for getting in touch here I’m so happy you love my blog! Thanks a lot! I appreciate that! So you have a full week to dedicate to Tuscany, and you could visit a lot! And you are perfectly right when you say to split the week between 2 bases, that would be ideal to get the most out of Tuscany attractions. As your goal is a romantic vacation, I would choose to stay half week in the stunning Val d’Orcia area, amazing land south of Siena and emblematic location in Italy. There, you will find countless romantic little villages, especially Pienza, that also has many streets’ names dedicated to love, and the unique little thermal village of Bagno Vignoni! As for your second base; I would choose between Chianti or San Gimignano area. The Chianti south of Siena is enchanting and food is superb here! San Gimignano with its towers and its surrounding scenic hills is a must visit in Italy!
