Tuscany with Varieties

Hi Elena,
We are a couple traveling to Italy for the 2nd time this upcoming December during 2 weeks (20 Dec onwards).
Last time, we have covered Venice, Florence (including a day trip to Siena, Pisa, Lunch at Chianti & then St. Gimignano) and Rome.
This time, we will start from Rome and wish to explore the most beautiful small towns from Rome to Florence, and perhaps if time allows, get to the South as well.
Having said that, we would like to have a bit of varieties during the trip such as stated in the below wish list, could you please recommend the places for such activities, given the weather in December?
– Stay in a farm house
– Hunt for Truffle
– Vineyard Visit with Organic Lunch with Wine
– Take a photo with a colorful city facing the sea
– Shopping for Italian leather products
We would like to prioritize our time for the above, and the remaining would be free and easy in either Florence or Rome.
Look forward to your advices!
Thank you very much!

Hi Tam,
Thanks a lot for getting here
There are amazing small towns on the journey from Rome to Florence; Civita di Bagnoregio, Orvieto, all the incredible villages south of Siena, in the Val d’Orcia park, and many more.
I imagine you’re renting a car, so you might take a look at this road trip from Rome to Florence and also to this other scenic one.
Now let’s see some recommendations:
>Stay in a farm house: A great and typical Tuscan farmhouse in one of the most beautiful parts of Tuscany, is Agriturismo il Rigo, located near the stunning Pienza.
>Hunt for Truffle: For a great experience of truffle hunting I suggest you move to the small and nice village of San Miniato, located between Florence and Pisa. You can contact Massimo of Truffle in Tuscany. San Miniato is famous for its white truffles.
>Vineyard Visit with Organic Lunch with Wine: In the heart of Val d’Orcia you can have wine tastings at Fattoria Poggio Grande. An alternative can be Badia a Passignano in Chianti, where you can taste wine and eat delicious food at their Osteria.
>Take a photo with a colorful city facing the sea: You can go to Castiglioncello, or more south to Monte Argentario.
>Shopping for Italian leather products: Go shopping in the city center of Florence, you can’t go wrong.
Let me know if I can be of any further help,
elena
