We are two families with very small children planning a 9-day trip to Tuscany in the end of October. Due to small children we would like to base in one place in the countryside and use it as a base point to explore Tuscany in one day trips to countryside, small villages as well as Siena and Firenze. Which would be the best place in Tuscany to use as a base point?
Thanks a lot for contacting me.
The best thing is to stay in a location that is central to Tuscany’s best destinations, including Siena and Firenze.
I would suggest you choose among either the countryside surrounding San Gimignano, or the Chianti area. Both are very scenic and located centrally in Tuscany, so both are great to base.
San Gimignano is famous for its unique medieval towers and the irresistible medieval atmosphere. Its location is perfect for day trips around Tuscany.
Chianti is still very charming and again serves as a great starting point for day tours.
Take a look at the pinks and the pics in each and let me know,
I remain at your disposal,
