Hi!
First of all: I really really love your website!
I need your help! I fell in love with my boyfriend, exactly 1 year ago in Rome. Now we decided yesterday to go back to Italy but to go to Tuscany. I have booked tickets for the first week of April (in only 11 days!) to fly to Rome with my love and I have already booked a car. We arrive at 12.15h and leave at 18.30h, so we have 6 days.
But for now we can not decide where to start! I want to spend 2 -1-2 nights in the same place. I have been looking for romantic places ons airbnb, booking, … but I want a place where we can stroll in cities, do some natural spa’s and drink wonderful wine in a vineyard. There is just so much to see and so little time.
He is really the most amazing boy I have ever met, and we had some rough weeks regarding my health, where he supported me when I needed it the most so I want us to have another amazing Italy experience!
He wants to drive around and just see where we can sleep, but i would love to surprise him with some lovely places to stay. The least I can return
Can you please help me?
Thanks! Grazie Mille!
I’m so very happy you love my blog! and I love your story, so romantic! Tuscany is the perfect place for a romantic getaway I’m glad to help on this special occasion!
Tuscany has lots of incredibly beautiful places full of romance! You may consider spending most of your time in 1 or 2 different places in the countryside amid scenic hills and vineyards, and 1 night or 2 in a major art town like Florence or Siena.
To start with, take a look at this list of the most romantic towns and villages across Tuscany.
And now I’m suggesting fantastic places to stay, having different locations in Tuscany, all beautiful, and each with its peculiar characteristics.
– Val d’Orcia is the name of the very sensational landscape south of Siena, with enchanting soft hills, fayrytale villages and excellent food and local wines. Of the many villages there, I recommend Bagno Vignoni above all, both for its incredible suggestive atmosphere and for its unique thermal baths, that you can enjoy either at the 3 star Hotel le Terme facing an ancient Renaissance thermal pool, or at the luxury Hotel Adler Thermae, one of the best hotels in Italy!
– East of Bagno Vignoni is Cortona, one of the most lovely villages in Tuscany. The countryside surrounding it has many special places to stay like luxury Relais la Corte dei Papi.
– Moving north west of Cortona you enter the scenic Chianti region of Tuscany, where to find scenic landscape, castles, wineries, hill towns. Here I recommend:
Villa Bordoni, a lovely and very romantic villa with views and winery offering many services
Castello di Spaltenna, a stunning medieval castle now a luxury resort with spa.
Castello di Meleto, another fairytale castle in Chianti with ancient wine cellars and nice views.
Coming to art towns, in Florence historic center I recommend the very romantic Hotel Brunelleschi with fantastic views over the city, and the refined Hotel JK Place.
While in the heart of Siena, I suggest the lovely Campo Regio Relais enjoying romantic views.
Take a look at various links and let me know. If you wish more suggestions just ask! You may want some suggestions for other Tuscan villages like Pienza, Montepulciano, or San Gimignano.
Enjoy the weekend!
Ciao from Florence!
