Very nice post about Bagno Vignoli. I always wanted to go there! Is it possible to reach by bus, private tour or any form of public transport? We don’t drive, unfortunately.
I am going to Florence for the 3rd time this Easter and am looking for new day trips (I have already done – Sienna, Pisa, Lucca, Montecatini). I wanted to go to Tarot Garden in Capalbio, but I suspect we also need a car to drive there? Any fun suggestions for two early thirties friends who love art, good food and wine, but don’t drive in Italy?

Getting to Bagno Vignoni without a car is not so simple or quick, but it’s possible! You have to take a train from Florence to Siena, and once in Siena, take a bus to Bagno Vignoni, some buses are direct, check here from bus timetables from Siena. To reach Capalbio from Florence without a car is not recommended.

This second time I would suggest you visit Fiesole, San Gimignano, and the Chianti wine area, all conveniently reached also without a car.

where are the hot springs located? this is not the same as thermal spas-right?
Ciao! 🙂 The hot springs are located right up the village where is the wonderful renaissance square, but you can enjoy thermal spas and and water at the hotel right facing the square, they have thermal pools inside. While down the village is another luxury hotel again with spas and thermal waters, also read about the village here.
