Hello Tuscany Chic,
Your website is amazing!  You truly are a wealth of knowledge with all things Tuscany related & I was hoping you could provide me with some advice for planning my trip to Italy in June.
I will arrive in Naples on 21 June & I am looking to drive the Amalfi Coast with two nights in Positano, and then spend the next 5 or 6 days lazily driving up the coast & through Tuscany & also the Cinque Terra (or any other part of the coast you would highly recommend).
My partner & I are very much into food & wine & as such we are hoping to do a (luxury) organized food & wine tour through Tuscany.   I also really like the idea of doing an Italian cooking class somewhere beautiful in Tuscany.
In terms of where we’d like to stay – I would prefer not  to be on a remote farm, as we enjoy a bit of hustle & bustle of a city / village, by that I mean we like to be able to walk out the front door of our accommodation & be able to walk to a number of bars / restaurants / cafes.
Tuscany Chic, I would be forever grateful if you could offer me some suggestions as to where I could base myself (& maybe recommend some lovely hotels as well) to cover off on the above aspects of my itinerary.   If you have any suggestions for food & wine tours, or cooking schools – I’d love to hear your thoughts.
Thanks in advance & I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Warm Regards from Australia,
Karol

Dear Karol,
Thanks a lot for your nice email! I’m very happy you like my blog

Coming to where to stay in Tuscany, as you’re looking for some hustle & bustle, I recommend staying either in Florence or in Siena. Of the two I prefer Siena, still a city but more quiet and very fascinating. Its atmosphere is unique. On this link you can find my recommendations about special hotels in Siena.

While, if you go for Florence, more lively and always full of events, here are my suggestions for special accommodations in its town center.

Coming to your route along the coast, you’ll find how beautiful is the Amalfi Coast, simply magical, and the food is fantastic! Along your way on the coast you may stop and visit Monte Argentario, a beautiful place on the sea, with great views and lovely fishing villages.

Other parts of Tuscany I highly suggest visiting are the magical Val d’Orcia south of Siena, and the scenic countryside of the Chianti region, between Florence and Siena.

For luxury food and wine tours, and also special cooking classes, I suggest this agency based in Florence; they offer a lot of options, all in beautiful places.

Contact me again for any further question you may need!

Have a nice day!
Elena
